Hui OpenVista & VistA Curriculum
Hui OpenVista is a non-proprietary, open source, healthcare information system based on
the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) enterprise-wide VistA system, made available to
the public through the Freedom of Information Act. This system has evolved from a
series of development projects designed to transfer technology built for the federal
government to the general public; in particular, health care facilities in remote areas of
the Pacific. It was developed as a collaborative effort with the Department of Veterans
Affairs, Pacific Telehealth & Technology Hui; WorldVistA, a professional organization of
VistA software developers; and the contributions of countless others who have supported the
development of open source healthcare information technology solutions. The last version in which the Hui had direct development involvement is Hui OpenVista 4.1.
This technology is now being transferred over to a non-profit organization called
the Hawaii Consortium for Medicine & Health (HCMH) to continue providing follow-on support,
activities, and updates to the application.

HCMH Website.
