About Us
The Pacific Telehealth & Technology Hui was formed in 1999 as a joint venture of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs with the encouragement and support of U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye. A subsidiary of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) (http://www.tatrc.org), under the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, the Hui facilitates interdisciplinary research partnerships with government, academia and industry to advance the development of emerging technologies and improve health care for beneficiaries in the Pacific region.
The Hui supports cooperation and collaboration with public and private healthcare providers and institutions to enable research, education and training, and telehealth projects. Towards that end, the Hui works to facilitate the transfer of taxpayer-funded technologies and systems available to other federal, public, and private organizations through its emerging technology transfer program.
